Throughout the course you would have read about observational methods and assessment techniques in early childhood education.  Describe the assessment tools in detail (purposes, reliability, validity, etc) that could be used to create a portfolio for kindergarten students (3-6 years old) in assessing their 6 learning areas (Hong Kong Kindergarten Curriculum Guide 2017). Different assessment tools can be used in different learning areas.  Give reasons why you think this portfolio is suitable in Hong Kong’s early childhood settings and what is the challenge when creating this portfolio.  

Assessment tools that may include in designing the portfolio:

Running record, anecdotal record, checklist, rating scales, time sampling, frequency counts, etc.

The essay should be in paragraph form, with about 2,000 words (not including appendices). At least 6 references should be used in the essay. De
