Frida Kahlo (Mexico)

Frida Kahlo is a famous Mexican painter born in the early twentieth century.
When Frida was eighteen she was riding a bus that was in a collision accident. She suffered horrible injuries such as a broken spinal column, many broken bones, and a piece of metal impaled her uterus. She was in a lot of pain for a long time and eventually was able to walk again. Many of her paintings reflect this pain that she felt and her feelings of disfigurement. Frida painted a large number of self portraits. Her paintings have vibrant colors and reflect her own suffering and typical Mexican symbols. She was married to Diego Rivera, a famous muralist
